Hypnosis is a natural state that we go into many times every day, like when we are driving our car, reading a book, watching television or that moment between waking and sleep.

Hypnotherapy uses a combination of techniques (including hypnosis) and coaching to facilitate the desired change within you. Hypnosis can be used for various purposes but in the case of hypnotherapy, is used to address challenges or issues a person might have, to help them achieve their desired goal, in one or more areas of their life.

Hypnosis is different to everyone but I always describe it as the best meditation ever you feel so comfortable and relaxed and yet still totally in control. You know you can open your eyes at anytime but it is so relaxing you won’t want to.

It is a state of focused concentration with a goal in mind and it allows us to bypass the critical mind and work at the subconscious where you are open to suggestions and therefore you are able to create create the change you want.

I believe fundamentally that we are either trying to protect or pleasure ourselves in our habits, emotions and behaviours. Unfortunately some of these habits, emotions or behaviours can be unhelpful and that is where hypnosis works by helping you create new healthier habits, emotions and behaviours quickly and effortlessly.

Being out of control is one of the most common misconceptions about hypnosis. Most likely derived from stage hypnosis, people can think that they will be forced to do things against their will when being hypnotised. We can honestly say that this is absolutely not true! You are completely in control and will remember everything just like you would from any normal conversation. In the clinical sense, it is undoubtedly a partnership between the client and therapist, both equally working together to serve the purpose of helping the client.

Every client has unique requirements. For example, to work with someone to get rid of a lifelong smoking habit can cost as little as 20 packets of cigarettes. To rid you of a crippling phobia may only take 1 hour. To release life long anxiety may take a little longer so please phone to discuss your individual needs.
